Brandt is currently seeking a Strategic Purchaser for our Regina location. Under the general supervision of the Director of Purchasing, this position will be responsible to support manufacturing and product support operations across the Brandt Group of Companies by exploring and developing new supply sources both domestically, within North America, and in the Pacific Rim, especially China.

As the leader of cross-functional teams formed of experts from across Brandt, they will source and evaluate product, negotiate and implement vendor agreements; coordinate vendor reviews; and manage vendor relationships related to a variety of Brandt's material and service needs.

The Strategic Buyer is expected to stay abreast of internal and external customer needs and maintain awareness of emerging technology in order to reduce costs of inputs on existing products, obtain best value for inputs for new product developments, and bring leading edge products or alternatives to the market.
The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment, be resourceful and a self-starter, and excel at identifying and analyzing opportunities and cost savings. Experience in drafting RFx and contract documents is required. The position will have access to Brandt's in-house legal counsel.

Experience in dealing with suppliers outside of North America is an asset, and a considerable portion of the work will be directed towards developing this relatively new element in Brandt's supply chain. Some domestic and international travel will be required; the selected individual will be expected to maintain a valid passport.
