The Saskatchewan Association of Recreation Professionals calls for applications to fill the position of Executive Director (ED) of the Association, on an interim basis, for the period of August 1, 2018 to March 31, 2020. This is a term position to fill a vacancy due to Maternity/Parental Leave. The S.A.R.P. office is in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and the preferred location of the ED for the term position would be Moose Jaw, HOWEVER, the S.A.R.P. Board of Directors (BOD) are open to the possibility of the Interim ED being located elsewhere within the province.
S.A.R.P. operates on a Policy Governance System whereby the ED answers directly to the S.A.R.P. Board of Directors and is required to fulfill the operations and management of the Association while working towards the strategic direction set out by the BOD. The successful candidate should be a team player with proven leadership skills, who has a passion for recreation and the profession and can work independently in a supported atmosphere. The successful applicant would also direct and supervise the Associations Administrative Assistant, and Summer Student who work out of the Moose Jaw Office.
Applicants must be eligible for Professional Membership in the Association and, in addition have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Recreation, preferably in a management position. The position would pay a monthly salary amount in the range of $4,333 to $4,666 for the term of the contract, depending on the applicants qualifications/experience, with no additional benefits. Training in the position will be provided through a one month overlap with the S.A.R.P. ED.
