Battlefords Victim Services is a non-profit organization that works in cooperation with the RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events. This casual position (0-20 hours a week) is located in the both the Cut Knife and Battlefords RCMP detachments, and is responsible to ensure the delivery of quality service to clients within three RCMP detachment areas.
Qualifications
- Related post-secondary education
- Successful completion of the Reliability Security Clearance with the RCMP
- Demonstrated strength in interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Extensive understanding into the dynamics of domestic violence
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel within program area
Duties include
- Responding to crime and trauma at the time of the event to provide crisis intervention and referrals to community agencies
- Provide 24 hour on-call crisis support in a given time period
- Supporting victims of crime through the Criminal Justice System
- Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence through the Battlefords Domestic Violence Treatment Options Court
- Maintain and regularly update client files
- Maintain a statistical record of services provided and prepare monthly, annual, and semi-annual reports
- Assist with recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers
- Deliver public awareness and education presentations
