Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our temporary full-time Technician II position. Under the direction of the Manager of Engineering, the Technician II is responsible for the performance of technical duties related to design, record keeping, field supervision, scheduling and quality control on municipal projects and assets related to the Engineering Services, including but not limited to, roads, water and wastewater infrastructure. This term position is anticipated to be until the end of January 2019, with the possibility of an extension.

Qualified candidates will have education and experience obtained through the completion of a post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and the ability to use manual and computerized survey equipment accurately with the ability to upload and download digital survey files, including Total Stations and GPS Systems. Additionally, preferred candidates will possess:
-    Certification as an Applied Science Technologist or Engineering in Training
-    Ability to lead, organize and direct the activities employees
-    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
-    Ability to use standard office computer software including Auto CAD
-    Demonstrated skills/experience in project management, cost control, problem solving, decision making, supervision of staff, organization and initiative
-    A valid Class 5 driver's license
