Description

Saskatchewan Health Authority  Preeceville, Saskatchewan requires a Primary Health Care Family Physician for the community of Preeceville.

The physician must hold full or provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and maintain membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Consideration may be given to candidates who have been deemed eligible for the Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment known as SIPPA.

Position Summary and Geographic Information:
This contract position is available commencing in December 2018 and works in a team-based Primary Health Care setting in the rural area.  The clinic is modern, well organized and fully equipped. The Preeceville and District Integrated Health Care Facility is an integrated health facility with 43 Long Term Care beds, 1 Palliative Care and 4 Flex beds. The Primary Health Care clinic is located within the hospital and has 3 physicians and 1 Nurse Practitioner who provide primary health care services 7 days as week with Emergency services weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 430 pm. Home Care, Therapy, Public Health Nursing, Mental Health and Addictions, Chronic Disease Management and Dietician services are all provided in the community on an outpatient or visiting service.

Preeceville is a vibrant community located in the east central part of Saskatchewan, close to hunting, fishing and other recreational activities. The Town of Preeceville serves a trading area of approximately 5,500 people and is about a one and a half hour drive from the Yorkton Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

Family physicians have access and may refer to the Yorkton Regional Hospital which provides specialty services.
