The Saskatoon Friendship Inn is a well-established community centre that provides the largest free meal service in Saskatoon, and a range of programs and services aimed at supporting the needs of individuals and families experiencing poverty and related social challenges. Founded as a small soup kitchen in 1969, today the organization serves over 1000 meals per day and works with various community partners to support local residents.
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. The ED participates in the development of the vision and strategy of the direction, and is accountable for creating and implementing an operational plan to meet the goals and objectives of the organization. With support from a dedicated staff, the ED prepares and manages a comprehensive budget, works to secure adequate funding for operational success and establishes positive working relationships with community groups, funders, politicians and other organizations.
The ideal candidate will bring:
-5 years experience in a senior leadership role, ideally in a similar organization.
-A university degree in a related field, or requisite experience in lieu of a degree.
-A passion for the non-profit sector and community service.
-Excellent people leadership, stakeholder management and communications skills.
-Business and financial acumen.
-Prior experience directly or indirectly reporting to a Board of Directors.
-Working knowledge of the federal and provincial legislation applicable to the sector.
