Description

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, or her designate, the CSO/FO Caseworker will be responsible for registering and monitoring client files and creating and maintaining a positive first impression for John Howard Society clients, staff and public and support the Fine Options Program.

Duties:
Utilize communication skills to ensure a positive image of the John Howard Society in the community through excellent reception skills.
Interview all persons referred to the local office under the above programs.
Locate appropriate job placements for these persons.
Monitor those placements and the appropriateness of the placement agency.
Develop and expand the list of suitable placement agencies.
Ongoing monitoring of placement agencies to assure their suitability for, and satisfaction with, the program.
Ensure that all billings and statistics are maintained accurately and promptly forwarded to the Provincial Office and to funders.
Provide such referrals to placement clients as appropriate.
Provide such reports, records, statistics and budget information as may be required by the program criteria established by the Society.
Maintain an appropriate and accessible filing system.
Main confidentiality.
Perform other duties of a related nature as assigned

Knowledge:
Understanding and commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of the John Howard Society.
Some familiarity with the problems and characteristics of disadvantaged persons.
Understanding of the importance of quality customer service.

Must possess a valid driver's license
