Duties and responsibilities:
Are you a student looking for an exciting summer employment opportunity? The Summer Fun Facilitator will work alongside the Coordinator to implement programs and activities for youth and children (ages 6-22) experiencing disability.
Duties include:
- Providing an engaging, interactive, safe and fun atmosphere for participants
- Facilitating recreational activities within the community for program participants experiencing disabilities.
- Record keeping of participant and volunteer attendance
Qualifications:
Education:
- Student who is continuing to full time, post-secondary education in Kinesiology, Education, Social Work, Recreational Therapy or related disciplines
- Valid first Aid and CPR Certificates
- Valid Drivers Licence and access to a personal vehicle
Experience:
- Experience working with children and youth experiencing disability
- Experience in organizing groups and facilitating programs
Skills:
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Innovative and creative thinking
- Computer skills - Microsoft Office
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
Successful candidates are recommended to have an Auto Pack with at least 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
