Continued demand for our testing services in southern Saskatchewan has resulted in the need to recruit for additional Field Technicians. Technicians must be capable of working alone for durations of varying lengths. These positions may involve distance travel and work away from home and office. To be successful you must be flexible to meet the time demands of the client and a short construction season. The work involves long hours, regularly working weekends and on statutory holidays dependent on the project schedule and upon request of the client. Applicants must be able to work out of town for the duration of the client projects. Summer construction is our busiest time of the year and for this reason we are unable to accommodate requests for time off outside of scheduled rest days.
Field Technicians will perform materials testing duties which may include:
- quality assurance/control testing of various construction materials such as soils, asphalt, and concrete
- limited report writing responsibilities in line with your level of experience
- use of geotechnical design, analysis and computer modeling programs
- limited design work of roads & highways, site grading and drainage
- lab testing - concrete, sieves, proctors, asphalt
- field inspections and surveying
- vibration monitoring
- compaction testing
- concrete testing
- pile monitoring
Applicants must be able to speak and comprehend the English language at a high technical level for both oral and written presentation. Preference will be given to applicants with a construction and outdoor background. We are looking for workers with integrity and dedication. Applicants need strong computer skills, a good driving record, a valid driver?s license and able to provide a 5-year driver's abstract upon request. Safety tickets in WHMIS, CSTS, and First Aid are required.
