Orthopedic specialist office is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic Medical Office Assistant. The office is open Monday-Friday, closed on weekends and holidays. Full-time hours.
Salary commensurate with experience. Start date will be as soon as possible.
Qualifications:
The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and have an eye for detail. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Medical Office Assistant training program or to those with previous administrative or medical experience. Computer proficiency is a must. Previous experience working with Accuro EMR is an asset.
Responsibilities:
Answer telephone, schedule consultations, appointments, meetings
Coordinate surgical bookings & requests for diagnostic tests & procedures
Schedule OR cases in a precise manner to enhance efficient use of operating room time allotted for surgeon
Notify & remind patients of office & surgical appointments, confirm their attendance, and send them appropriate instructions & information packages
Check patients in/out, and see patients to examination rooms
Manage patients medical records using EMR (Accuro)
Transcription of consultation & clinic notes
Tidy and stock patient rooms
General office organization, inventory, ordering supplies
Sort incoming mail
Create office forms and spreadsheets using Microsoft Word and Excel
