Description

Medical Office Assistant required to work directly with a family physician in clinic operations and in delivering patient care.

The position requires availability Monday to Friday and hours are part-time in a non fixed schedule. Typically a week will consist of 20-32 hours.

Duties:
~ Coordinate patient care through the clinic
~ Answer enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner
~ Maintain appointment schedule and manages recalls
~ Maintain electronic medical records, including the patient chart
~ Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately and ready for the next patient
~ Ensure patient confidentiality
~ Assist physician when required
~ Collecting patient statistics, including minor lab work(Urinalysis and HCG testing)
~ Clean and sterilizes materials and instruments
~ Perform patient prep procedures and documents finding in the patients records
~ Perform all other related clinical, administrative tasks or special tasks as required
~ Manage the physicians schedule
~ General administrative duties as assigned

The successful candidate should have the following experience and/or skills:
~ Excellent communication skills including; telephone etiquette, both written and oral
~ Ability to work in highly confidential environment
~ An intrest in health care
~ Ability to talk to patients in an understanding way
~ Excellent organizational and time management skills
~ Ability to work well with others, and also work independently
~ Computer experience and typing skills
~ Ability to be flexible and adapt to new or changing requirements
