Description

OVERVIEW:
  
The Numeracy Facilitator will effectively facilitate the implementation of Mathematics curriculum, numeracy instruction and assessment for teachers in Treaty 4 Education Alliance schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelors degree in Education at a minimum
    A valid Professional A Saskatchewan Teachers Certificate
    Early Years/Middle Years classroom teaching experience, with numeracy experience and/or specialization
    Knowledge of provincial mathematics curriculum
    Excellent understanding of numeracy resources, programs, and best practices from around the world, specifically those that relate to First Nations learners
    Knowledge of best practice and/or innovations in First Nations/Indigenous education, federal education systems, Inherent and Treaty Rights to Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Works in collaboration with colleagues to innovate, organize, coordinate, develop and deliver first-rate professional learning opportunities for schools that further the mandate and goals of the program.
    Develops effective strategies to build deeper understanding of T4EA program mandate and goals with/for a variety of audiences and stakeholders with a focus on improving student learning outcomes in numeracy, and enhancing teacher capacity for numeracy instruction and assessment.
    Provides high quality leadership for a variety of initiatives with a focus on, but not limited to, numeracy.
    Successfully engages and assists a variety of stakeholders in their understanding of curriculum, learning strategies, assessment strategies, and data in numeracy.
