Description

Working in collaboration with a team, the School Services Coordinator provides guidance and advisory services for Alliance First Nations needs in the areas of educational policy, risk management, specialized educational programming, and other areas as required by the First Nations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
    A Masters Degree in Education is preferred, although a combination of other related and relevant education and experience may be considered
    A valid Professional A Saskatchewan Teachers Certificate
    District Administration (Superintendency, Consultantcy) and/or school-based administration (Principalship/Vice Principalship). Previous experience with teacher supervision is an asset
    Knowledge of best practice and/or innovations in First Nations/Indigenous education, federal education systems, Inherent and Treaty Rights to Education
    Meets the requirements for an associate membership in LEADS

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Models strategies that foster positive relationships guided by mutual respect with and among students, staff, families and First Nations communities
    Uses empowering and affirming strategies to work in the best interest of children and youth of each of the First Nations
    Utilizes positive models of effective partnership, change management strategies and an effective culture that promotes shared knowledge and shared responsibility for positive outcomes of students
    Displays passion and commitment to working with First Nations children, youth and families, using a strength/asset-based approach that aligns to the goal, vision and mandate of the Treaty 4 Education Alliance.
    Possesses the ability to effectively create, innovate and adapt, balanced with the intuition and sensitivity to identify, avoid and/or mitigate any potential risks to the First Nation or the organization.
