Cornwall is seeking a Boys Counsellor for the
2018-2019 school year. Cornwall Alternative School Inc. (CAS) is a community based, non-profit charitable corporation. CAS has a vision to assist students in a holistic approach to gain the confidence and educational skills to return to the traditional educational setting. As boys counsellor you will work as part of a team providing an alternative student-centred
experience to students that are high-risk.
Cornwall is an Independent School working with
youth ages 12-18 in Grades 7 to 10. As the counsellor you are required to counsel students, families, monitor attendance, work, and behaviour.
You will be responsible for keeping monthly
records, coordinating and delivering life skills classes on a weekly basis, supervising students in a variety of settings, and communicating with all staff and agencies about any student concerns. The ideal candidate will have a equivalent, at least 2 years experience with youth or a Bachelor of Social Work, and strong counselling skills. Knowledge of Indigenous culture is an asset.
