David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to hire for an Intermediate Accountant within their Saskatoon office.
Accounting duties:
-Journal entries created and posted for period end financials
-Balance Sheet Accounts working papers updated and reconciled each period as per the prescribed timeline
-Provide coverage for data entry in sales order processing and accounts receivable activities
-Provide coverage for data entry in purchase order processing and accounts payable activities
-Managing and maintaining vendor/ client information
-Filing and maintaining invoices and purchase orders
-Communicating with vendors regarding resolution of invoice discrepancies
-Entering invoices into in-house accounting software and printing cheques
-Reconciling statements
-Filing invoices, payment receipts and cheques
-Entering and maintaining accounting books/ GL
-Assisting the Controller with accounting entries and month end activities
Administrative duties:
-Provide coverage for receptionist as directed by the Controller
-Operating and maintaining office equipment
-Handling highly confidential materials
The Ideal Candidate:
-Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting support roles
-Competency with all facets of Microsoft Office; particularly Excel
-Experience in Accounting software with multiple sub ledgers is considered a strong asset
-Understanding of and/or experience with the Manufacturing/Distribution Industry also considered an asset.
-Effective written and oral communication skills
-Strong ability to multitask, set and achieve priorities and meet deadlines
-Well organized, high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
-Ability to work well with people and contribute in a team environment
-Display a keen sense of initiative, direction, and responsibility
