The Admin Support 2 Museum Technician position at the Lloydminster Cultural & Science Centre (LCSC) is primarily focused on the management, coordination and maintenance of the Heritage Collection. The position also includes, but is not limited to museum administration, curatorial research. The main priority of this term position will be to complete an artefact management project.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
With direction from the Collections Coordinator, coordinate and maintain the Heritage Collection which includes reorganization of the collection, cataloguing, data entry, accessioning, condition reporting and curatorial research.
Implement LCSCs Integrated Pest Management Plan.
Perform general administrative duties such as front cash, tourist information and security checks.
Fabricate mounts for sensitive artefacts.
Work with the Collections Coordinator to develop a comprehensive artefact management plan.
Recommend artefacts for deaccession and compile a list of loaned artefacts.
Provide monthly progress reports.
Engage with various user groups.
Train, coordinate and oversee collections and exhibition volunteers in their various duties.
Follow and adhere to all of City of Lloydminster and institutional safety policies and procedures.
Demonstrate superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in a professional environment.
Other related duties as required.
