Description

Saskatoon Public Schools requires a Michif Teacher:  effective school opening for the 2018-2019 school year.  This is a full-time position for a one-year term.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Education, fluent  understanding of the Michif language-Manitoba Michif or the ability to adapt to the Manitoba Michif dialect.  The candidate will also have a comprehensive understanding of Mtis content, perspectives and ways of knowing; along with a comprehensive knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action.

The successful candidate will be expected to share their knowledge of the Michif language to realize the goals of Saskatoon Public Schools First Nations, Inuit & Mtis Education Strategic Plan and to provide leadership in supporting the implementation of K-8 provincial curricula with an emphasis on Michif language,  Mtis content, perspectives and ways of knowing.

The names of at least three professional references other than members of Administrative Council for Saskatoon Public Schools are required in the application.  Applicants are required to upload current University transcripts, if such are not on file.
