Description

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association exists to support and encourage foster families through education and advocacy, helping create healthy homes, positive environments, and brighter futures for children and youth in care across the province.

We are currently seeking a In Home Support worker to provide one-on-one care and supervision to 15 year old youth.

Schedule & Hours:
We require support from 2:30-7:30 Mon to Fri through June 30th and 2 individuals to support from 7AM-7PM Mon to Fri for July and August.

Key Accountabilities:
Support children and/or youths social and emotional development
Observe and document daily habits, social skills and emotional well being
To provide supervision and ensure safety of youth at all times
To work in partnership with the foster family to ensure a consistent approach in dealing with behaviors is practiced.

Qualifications:
Experience in working with children/youth with cognitive delays.
Be able to develop a recreational plan to enhance the youths social and personal development.
Be able to work independently and display a calm, patient demeanour.
To develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, supervisors and partnering agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
Must be able to express ideas and concepts both written and orally
A clear Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check that is valid from the last three (3) months
A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and drivers abstract.
