Description

As a member of the senior management assembly, this position plays a key role in academic leadership and strategic planning across the institution. With a budget of over $2M, the Director, IT Strategy and Architecture will lead a team comprised of 8 full- and part-time staff across four campuses in Saskatchewan.
Based in one of the 4 campus locations, the Director, IT Strategy and Architecture reports to the AVP & CIO. The Director, IT Strategy and Architecture supervises 8 direct reports including IT Architects, Business Relationship Managers and Business Analysts. On a daily basis the Director, IT Strategy and Architecture interacts with other ITS directors and managers, non ITS Directors, Deans, AVPs, and Managers of Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The Information Technology Services (ITS) division includes approximately 85 staff.

This position requires extensive familiarity with the use of information technology services within the higher education sector. Diploma(s) or degree(s) in both an information technology and business management discipline. A minimum of 10 years experience in a senior leadership role with experience in enterprise architecture execution in a complex distributed environment. Technical skills necessary to create a vision, roadmap and key high level components of a business and technical architecture for Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Ability to recruit and build strong, customer oriented team members and mentor them to success. Prior experience leading the change and improvement of a large organization. The ability to add value by driving the effective execution of an organizations mission. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

This position may be located in Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw or Prince Albert.
