The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Contracts and Land. This will require comprehensive knowledge of oil and gas agreements and knowledge of operations within an oil and gas company.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Management of contract records in CS Explorer, ensuring files are current, thorough and accurate in accordance with company guidelines.
-Ability to draft, review, comment and interpret agreements, ie. Purchase and Sales, Asset Exchanges, Farmin/Farmout Agreements, Quit Claims, Wellbore Conveyances, Working Interest Clarification Agreements, Joint Operating Agreements.
-Ability to review all contract and mineral files in relation to well ownership and provide information to various departments for all stages of drilling and production, as well as suspension and or abandonment of wells.
-Negotiate mineral and surface leases.
-Assist with Acquisitions/Divestments issues including the maintenance of Contract, Mineral and Surface rights, third party contracts and other Land related documents such as NOAs, A&Ns, assignments, caveats, withdrawals, and transfers, offset notices and continuations
Qualifications and Experience
-Minimum 5-10 years experience in a Contracts role
-Strong working knowledge of CAPL Procedures and industry agreements.
-Proficient with CS Explorer, Word, Excel and GeoScout.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills with acute attention to detail
-Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain partnerships
-Exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a deadline driven environment
Education
-Graduate of a recognized Land program preferred or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
-Member of CAPL and/or CAPLA.
