The Public Works Maintenance Personnel is responsible for ensuring that Battleford residents have safe and transportation and environment. Responsibilities will include the operation of various equipment such as skid steer, 3-ton truck and backhoe along with an assortment of tasks.
There is one full-time seasonal position available. The Public Works Maintenance Personnel is a union position reporting directly to the Public Works Manager and in his absence to the designate. The incumbent assists in the operation and routine maintenance of all facilities, equipment and functions within the Public Works Department and as such requires quality and quantity of work that is both self-motivated and responsible in nature. The functions of this position are more closely monitored and supervised in order to provide a high level of service. All employees must adhere to all Town Policies and the procedures including the Code of Conduct.
Qualifications include:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Maintain a valid Saskatchewan Drivers License Class 5 or better, with air brake endorsement.
Mechanically inclined and one-year experience in job related tasks.
Ability to work under supervision and to work independently.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and responsive manner.
Mechanically inclined.
Aptitude for accuracy and detail.
Possess a working knowledge of public works equipment, systems and operations.
