Reporting to the Library Administrator and working as part of a team, the Circulation Supervisor/Programmer is responsible for overseeing patron services, supervising staff, cataloguing, and providing childrens programming.
This position will be open until a suitable candidate is found.
Qualifications
* Possesses a Library Technician Certificate/Diploma, or a combination of relevant education
and work experience.
* Basic cataloguing knowledge an asset.
* Must possess computer literacy and have the ability to troubleshoot computer and printer
problems.
* Ability to work cooperatively with other people is essential.
* Good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to present effective programs.
* Must have a demonstrated ability to exercise reasonable judgment and discretion.
* Must be able to establish work priorities with assigned responsibilities.
* Must have demonstrated initiative and creativity in handling unusual situations.
* Ability to lift up to 10 kilograms.
* Experience working with babies, toddlers and children is desirable.
* Experience supervising staff is an asset.
* Experience working with an Integrated Library System like Polaris is an asset.
* Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector check required.
