Seed Plant Manager
The Seed Plant Manager will oversee and coordinate all seed plant operations including drying, grading, sorting, bagging, testing, sampling and plant maintenance in the most efficient and profitable manner possible. The following responsibilities are representative of daily tasks. This is a full time permanent position in Vermilion, AB. Salary negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate all receiving, grading, bulk storage, sampling and inventorying.
Maintenance of all equipment
Maintain/log all inventories in the warehouses and monitor inventory and quality.
Supervise inventory entry operations to assure accuracy and efficiency.
Organize and maintain all production orders from various customers to assure timely completion of work.
Coordinate all bagging and warehousing of seed to fulfill contracts with various customers.
Supervise and coordinate shipping, re-bagging and inventory control between customer and division manager.
Supervise all seed plant personnel.
Review and evaluate performance of personnel under his/her supervision.
Comply with company and customer regulations and policies.
Report all relevant information to board and members as required
Generate and implement new ideas to ensure profitability
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years experience in a seed plant elevator
Supervisory experience
Computer skills - Quickbooks, Excel and email
Self motivated and detail orientated
Good mechanical aptitude to detect and correct or repair equipment problems.
Excellent communications, organizational and supervisory skills. The ability to efficiently get the job done by communicating, training, delegating duties and assessing results of subordinates.
An understanding of and the ability to develop budgets, cost controls, and capital needs to successfully run a profitable seed plant.
