Description

As a fast paced company who has serviced the oil and gas sector for 62 years, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our team as a Mechanic/Shop Foreman.
Reporting to the Service Manager:
Primary Purpose: Supervise and organize daily activities of vehicle repair and maintenance operation to ensure proper performance and safety off all vehicles
Qualifications: Journeyman Truck and Transport Trailer Mechanic certification (preferred).
-    Must have knowledge of oil & gas industry and understanding of tank trucks.
-    Must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills and excellent work ethic
-    Must understand WHMIS and TDG
-    Advanced knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair and maintenance processes
-    Ability to lift equipment and vehicle parts
-    Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
-    Direct, supervise and work with shop personnel
-    Coordinate vehicle repairs, shop space and wash bay operations
-    SGI Inspection certifiable

Responsibilities and Duties:
-    Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems
-    Provide guidance and direction to all staff members
-    Prioritize work orders and assign to appropriate staff
-    Practice safe work habits and use personal protective equipment as required
-    Routinely inspect shop equipment and work area to maintain a safe environment for employees
-    Keep the Service Manager abreast of major repairs and fleet readiness.
-    Respond to breakdowns and maintenance in a timely fashion
-    Maintain shop equipment to ensure safe working condition
-    Direct the upkeep and appearance of the shop
-    Coordinate on call and week end scheduling
