Reporting to the Controller, responsibilities for this position include the following:
- To be actively involved in all areas of internal and external losses.
- To coordinate employee training and development regarding Asset Protection and Employee Safety.
- To protect the Co-ops assets (people, building, merchandise, brand and information)
- To provide primary support to managers in the area of legislation, regulations, and administration pertaining to safety and theft procedures.
- To provide department support.
- To ensure self-development is planned for, and the initiative is taken, to improve skills, knowledge and attitude.
Qualifications:
- Effective leadership skills and ability to work - Self-reliant, goal-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to set and adjust priorities and schedules as required.
- A minimum of two years experience or education in the field of Asset Protection, Safety or Law Enforcement.
The following attributes or qualifications are an asset:
I. Asset Protection industry certification.
ii. Courses or training in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Security, Asset Protection, or a willingness to obtain.
iii. Familiarity with security systems technology and point of sale systems.
iv. Current First Aid/CPR Certification/WHMIS, or a willingness to obtain.
v. Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
vi. Strong interview and negotiation skills.
vii. Strong communication, both written and oral.
