The Lab Assistant will provide classroom and lab support in the Mine School. This support will include: Assisting students with their learning needs; Promoting a positive learning environment; Preparing and assisting with labs; Maintaining, Sorting, Inventorying and Stocking Lab Equipment; Creating lab manuals; Assisting Instructors as required; Working as part of a team dedicated to increasing student retention and success; and other duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities include: Classroom Management; Taking attendance and submitting it to on a regular basis; Monitoring student progress and submitting reports on a regular basis; Setting up and monitoring work placements; and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are: A relevant two year post-secondary diploma, however applicants with a relevant University degree will be given preference, Strong computer skills, Recent/relevant experience in preparing/conducting labs, Strong communication and interpersonal skills. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
