The Lower Souris Watershed Committee Inc. is looking for a Summer Student Watershed Technician.
The role of a Student Watershed Technician will be to assist in all aspects of the Watershed Stewardship Group operation. The Student Watershed Technician will have the opportunity to assist with plans and projects in multiple programs, Agri-Environmental program, Agricultural Drainage Projects, Agricultural Plastics Recycling Program, Water Sampling, Aquatic Invasive Species education, as well as other projects. The Student Watershed Technician will also help to promote watershed education to watershed residents, community and youth groups.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment. Public relations and strong interpersonal skills will be considered an asset. Students must have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the following year. Preference will be given to high school students from the Lowe Souris Watershed area. All applicants must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
