Description

Duties and responsibilities:
-  Coordinates home and day-time supports for adults experiencing disability, providing opportunities for community connections, personal development, and recreation.
-  Provides daily guidance, supports and direction to Support Workers with an emphasis on coaching and role-modeling.
-  Provides regularly scheduled on-call supports outside of traditional office hours.
-  Develops, coordinates and facilitates a variety of community-based individual and/or small group activities related to recreation, social and leisure, education, volunteerism, and transportation.
-  Works collaboratively with Support Workers in the development and actualization of each individuals person-centred plan.
-  Assists in scheduling staff for 24 hour, 7 day per week operations.
-  Assists with staff recruitment, initial orientation of new staff, and ongoing training of existing staff.
-  Provides personal and/or attendant care (i.e., feeding, toileting, transferring, and dressing), as required.

Qualifications:
-  Degree in related human services field (e.g., Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, etc.) with minimum two years experience working with staff to develop and implement outcomes-based programming to support people experiencing disability.
-  Class 5 Drivers Licence & reliable vehicle; CPR and First Aid certification; Transfer, Lift and Repositioning training.
-  Knowledge of community opportunities and service providers.
-  Demonstrated innovation and creativity in engaging individuals in purposeful, meaningful activities that help to achieve their goals.
-  Well developed time management, problem solving, communication, technology, and decision making skills

The final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search. Successful candidates are recommended to have an Auto Pak with at least 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
