Description

Relief DSPs provide services to the people supported by Christian Horizons in the absence of the regularly scheduled DSP, or provide additional coverage based on temporary increased needs of people supported in a location. The success applicant(s) will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to community inclusion as they provide supports to the individuals living in community residences. As a Relief DSP, you will be expected to foster team unity through effective communication, interpersonal relations and consistency in the application of practices, procedures, and protocols, in order to create a positive working culture and living environment where the highest level of care and services are provided to persons supported. You will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the Vision, Mission, Values, and Service Principles of Christian Horizons, through the implementation of consistent behaviour support plans and protocols, and a person-centered approach. Upholding the rights of people supported, promoting self-determination, and encouraging citizenship through community participation, is an essential focus of your responsibilities. You must respond calmly in all interactions with people, demonstrating patience, effective listening, respectful communication, and flexibility.  This is a physically demanding environment that may involve frequent lifting, bending, turning, twisting & kneeling.

Requirements: Current First Aid/CPR; Valid Class 5 drivers license.
