The Steel Production Operator is responsible for all aspects of the steel fabrication process, including safety, quality control, equipment operation, process monitoring and various support activities. He/She will perform general duties including but not limited to machine operator, measuring, bundling, labelling, shot blasting, zinc spray coating, maintenance, general labourer duties, and other related tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High School diploma/GED
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a welding industry setting.
Physically fit
Able to read and interpret blue-prints and tape measures (imperial measurements) is required.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
Overhead crane training/experience is considered an asset.
Experience with fabrication tools (ie. Band saw, IW, angle rollers, etc) is considered an asset.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001: 2008 are considered assets.


This is a plant position located in the Saskatoon Norseman Structures facility.

This is a temporary, full time (40 hours per week) term position for the period July to November.

Hour of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00am  5:30pm; occasional overtime may be required.
