Description

Reporting to the Director, Instructional and Leadership Development Centre (ILDC), the successful candidate will work independently and as part of a provincial instructional team. The primary responsibility for the position is to assist in the development and training of new and experienced faculty. The position, as an integral part of the ILDC team, will be responsible for the scheduling, planning, development and implementation of Centres activities, including (but not limited to) the New Instructor Orientation (NIO) and continuing professional development of Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty. As a team member, you will also contribute to the development and maintenance of an ILDC Website and promotion of professional development activities.

1. Maintain the Saskatoon Campus location of the ILDC and co-manage the day-to-day operations of the Centre.
2. Further development and maintenance of the Learning Commons within the Centre including establishment and maintenance of both professional and teaching-enhanced resources such as technology-enhanced material.
3. Plan, develop, coordinate and deliver New Instructor Orientation (NIO), Academic Leadership Workshop (ALW), Program Head sessions and other continuing professional development activities for faculty.
4. Advance instructional and academic leadership development among faculty by utilizing and modeling active learning techniques and through the development of a mentoring network.
5. Lead the development of a Saskatchewan Polytechnic learning community where faculty expertise is fully utilized in the areas of curriculum development, instructional design and methodology, evaluation and assessment techniques and classroom management strategies.
6. Promote the community of practice and life-long learning through professional development sessions and individualized sessions, conferences and, in general, fostering a climate of best practices in adult education (includes active learning).
