Description

The Montreal Lake Cree Nation Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2018 - 2019 Academic Year to fill the position as Vice Principal at the Senator Allan Bird Memorial School.
GENERAL DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Strong commitment to working with staff to embed Professional Learning Community knowledge, skills and dispositions in the schools day to day professional practice, including routine teacher collaboration about student learning, and systemic intervention strategies as per the Response to Intervention model;
Demonstrated experience and skill in disciplinary strategies and interventions; Commitment to school/community involvement;
Awareness and sensitivity to current educational issues and the changing nature of instruction;
Demonstrated knowledge of current research in literacy, numeracy and differentiated instruction;
Interpersonal, communication and strong leadership skills to support the school community towards a common vision of teaching and learning excellence.
A leadership style characterized by collaborative decision-making and high visibility in the school with both students and staff.
Proven teaching and administrative abilities and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work with all partners to establish clear goals and directions.
A focus on student achievement.
Knowledge of First Nations culture and language will be considered an asset.
