Our railcar maintenance shop that is located at 2200 Caribou St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K6 is looking for a Production Supervisor.
The purpose of the Production Supervisor is to ensure that employees performing the repairs to rail cars have all the tools, equipment, information & training to perform the appropriate repairs. The Production Supervisor is on the front line and needs to manage employees in the most efficient way possible in order to meet the key initiatives regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for both the service center and GATX.
Key Activities:
1.Supervising direct reports performing rail car repairs Organize and assign work assignments to employees to efficiently perform repairs to rail cars.
2.SQDC Tracking Track and communicate daily metrics and targets. Identify root cause and corrective actions with input from hourly staff and shop leaders.
3.Training & Mentoring Making sure employees have the most recent training, work instructions and are qualified to perform the required repairs.
4.Scheduling/Shop Planning Effectively schedule and process repairs to rail cars.
5.Time Keeping support daily time cards from direct reports to be entered into the GATX system by the Admin Support.
What is required of you?
High school
Computer training Excel, Word, GATX systems
5 years of experience in rail car repair rail car repairman or in a manufacturing environment
2 years experience leading or supervising employees.
