Family Literacy Coordinator position

Job Description
Organization: Prince Albert Literacy Network (PALN)
Job Location: Prince Albert, Sask.
Job Purpose
PALN promotes and supports adult literacy and family literacy in the Prince Albert community.
As the PALN Family Literacy Coordinator, this individual will work in collaboration with many stakeholders to develop, coordinate and implement the goals of the PALN program.
This position is 26 hours per week @ 4 days per week. Must be available to work some flexible hours. If you are looking for work hours that accommodate your family life, this might be the job for you.
Qualifications & Experience:
Certificate or experience in Volunteer Management is an asset
University education or experience in a related field
Ability to facilitate family literacy programs and workshops
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with the Adult Literacy Coordinator of PALN to support program delivery
Must have knowledge, skills and experience in:
- Critical thinking/problem solving
- Early Childhood Development
- Healthy Parenting
- Cultural Sensitivity
- Community Resources
- Data Collection
- Current computer applications
- Group facilitation and presentations to groups
- Organization and prioritization
- Report preparation
A police security check, vulnerable sector check, and child protection check are required upon hiring. A reliable working vehicle and valid drivers license are required. Must be bondable.
