HUNTING GUIDE IN SASKATCHEWAN   -   SEPT 12  NOV 1, 2018 (Waterfowl)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Located in the heart of the Central Flyway for migratory birds on the beautiful prairies of Saskatchewan for waterfowl (50 minutes south of Saskatoon), Highland Outfitters is looking for a person who loves the outdoors, nature, wildlife & hunting to fill the position of waterfowl hunting guide.  This is a career position for the right candidate at a reputable, well established, local outfitting business with 18 years of service to our mainly US client base.  White tailed deer, spring snow goose & black bear seasons could add additional employment annually to the right guide.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    
Scouting out fields of birds & respectfully securing land permission from local farmers
    
Use of binoculars, GPS, RM maps for plotting locations of hunts
    
Preparing a shoot for hunters by: Organizing decoys and decoy trailer, Planning out decoy spreads, setting up blinds & decoys in field according to wind direction & speed
    
Proficiently calling of ducks/geese using your handheld/mouth calls.
    
Waterfowl knowledge/recognition of various waterfowl including identification while in flight (Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Mallard/Pintail/Speckle Bellies/Teal Ducks & Sand Hill Cranes)
    
Some high school, gun licence, familiarity with hunting/safety regulations, speaks fluent English, works well with others, clear, friendly communicator, sharp listener, physically able to walk, lift up to 50 lbs, repetitive kneeling, bending.
    
In depth understanding of Canadian prairie waterfowl hunting, the birds habits, feeding patterns, crop identification, assessing field conditions prior to access, etc..
