Description

The Mental Health/Wellness Worker is accountable for the provision of direct clinical mental health services to children, youth, adults, Elders, and their families.
This position will perform generalized social work services as assigned, mental health counselling support for clients and other related issues.  Further duties include case management and public education.
The position is part of a multi-disciplinary team comprised of; Addictions Counsellor, Community Health Nurse, social workers, and functions within the practice principles of the mental health and services program management.  Multi-disciplinary work will involve program support to other members of the team, as needed.
Provide integrated mental health services to clients, develop and facilitate educational/informational and or treatment groups.  Advocate for client services. Develop and maintain effective working relationships and consult with; other health care providers, community agencies, other health care professionals within and outside the organization and community. Provide crisis management as needed. Actively participate in clinical supervision.
Duties will include completion of weekly work records, monthly activity sheets as it relates to clients and consultation, prior approval forms and other forms as required
Participation in quality improvement activities as required
Other position related duties as assigned by the team lead
Ability to work flexible hours as required (i.e. evening/weekend workshops, groups, camps, etc.)
Full participation within the Indigenous holistic framework of WCHS (spiritual, mental, emotional, physical activities)
