Description

Duties and responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Depot Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor, the Cashier provides customer service, counts containers, pays out refunds.  

Duties include:
-    Provide customers with helpful and efficient service by counting containers, paying out refunds, and responding to inquiries when necessary.
-    Prepare containers for shipment, load trailers, operate mechanized SARCAN equipment, and prepares the loading documentation.
-    Complete all of the functions necessary to open and/or close the SARCAN depot.
-    Will be involved in the direction and supervision of staff to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
-    May be responsible for: retrieving cash at the bank, completing night deposits, completing daily cash reconciliation, issuing cheques.  The incumbent willl have safe combinations, depot security codes, and may have bank signing authority.
-    Complete all daily and monthly cash and container accountings when necessary.
-    Dealing with non-routine customer inquiries and complaints.

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Grade 12
Experience:
-    Cash Register
-    Customer Service
Skills:
-    Ability to operate mechanical equipment
-    Ability to work with people with disabilities
-    Ability to work well with the public and provide excellent customer service
-    Good math, writing and reading skills, and accuracy in dealing with money
-    Physical stamina (position requires standing for long periods of time)
-    Basic computer skills are necessary
-    Effective communication and leadership skills
-    Valid Class 5 Driver's licence

The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory police record checks
