YOUR JOB
Captive offers opportunities to work on all sorts of projects such as electronics projects, virtual reality applications, 3D camera and vision, carpentry, and about a million other things.
The projects you work on here will vary from turning designs into websites, to concepting and building a touchscreen kiosk, to wiring TVs into trailers, to lighting up Mosaic Stadium with wirelessly controlled LED bracelets. Were not looking for someone that knows everything, were looking for someone that loves a problem and wants to figure out a solution.
YOUR SKILLS
While were all about figuring stuff out on the job, theres a few things we think youll need in order to show up and jump into the fray without sinking:
We have primarily been a Javascript/jQuery and PHP shop, and most of our products are put together in a browser. Its important to be well-versed in those languages. We are open to have you code in the languages youre most comfortable with.
The designers like to use Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD, so wed like to see you able to competently navigate around some image files and extract any assets you need.
Multi-disciplinary troubleshooting is a big part of this job. If you have a webpage loaded on a kiosk connected to the internet through a 4G access point, we need you to be able to determine whether the page isnt working because of a programming error, network error, server error, or something altogether unexpected. Use of Google is allowed.
