Responsible to the City Comptroller for a variety of administrative, clerical and record keeping duties relating to the payroll activities of the City; Trains and assists staff; Produces the semi-monthly payrolls; Maintains the payroll system and integrity of the data; Accurately codes computer input data forms; Prepares individual payroll statements; Calculates and remits long-term disability and group life benefits; Prepares monthly sick report; Attends to the Department's financial records retention and disposal program.
Qualifications: Diploma in Accountancy from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or a recognized diploma in accountancy from a provincially sanctioned institution; OR Payroll Compliance Practitioner OR One year accounting and the first three courses of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner; AND one year experience in full cycle of payroll of 50 or more employees; knowledge of computer software packages; ability to understand and operate specialized application software.
