Full scope Family Physician to work clinics, ER and outpost clinics.

Northern Medical Services (College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan) is seeking community-minded, patient-centered, physicians who are passionate about cultural safety and relationship-based care for predominantly Indigenous communities in Northern Saskatchewan. NMS offers excellent remuneration through Salaried Employee, Contracted Itinerant and Locum physician models. Join the physician team in Ile a la Crosse, where you will enjoy a full scope of Family Practice with ER and outpost clinics. Daytime clinic, evening and weekend on-call at approximately 1:5 to 1:6. Outpost visits are drive in or fly in depending on the remoteness and are in and out in the same day. Outposts include Patuanak, Beauval, Buffalo Narrows and Dillon

Job Qualifications
Candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS)Full CPSS license, CFPC or equivalent preferred.

 - Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
 - College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
Additional Skills
 - Participate in health care policy and planning
Specific Skills
 - Advise patients on health care
 - Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases
 - Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
 - Perform patient advocacy role
 - Manage patient care
 - Inoculate and vaccinate patients
 - Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
 - Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' health
 - Communicate health promotion/disease prevention to patients
