Description

Verdient Foods, a major plant-based protein food ingredient company, is currently seeking a Maintenance Lead to join their growing team in Saskatchewan. This is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of a team dedicated to addressing current and future global sustainable plant-based protein food demand.  

Responsibilities and Accountabilities (WHAT)
Responsible for providing overall support to the Maintenance Manager to include hands-on maintenance of the production lines, other mechanical equipment throughout the facility and building requirements. This role will perform repairs and help in the operation, monitoring, and performance of preventative maintenance as necessary.
Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, sources vendors and/or parts as needed
Assist in creating a high performing and engaged maintenance team
Ensure safety of all employees and contractors working by driving continuous improvement towards a safety culture.
Records and reports on maintenance repairs and issues as needed
Work cooperatively with other departments to meet plant objectives, diagnose complex equipment problems, meet plant goals and assist in managing department budget
Develop and lead preventative/predictive maintenance, including working with Hydraulics, Instrumentation, Process Control, Electrical, Pneumatic, and Power Transmissions.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a mechanical or electrical post-secondary education (college or university) or registered trade/journeyperson (e.g. mechanic). A specialization in maintenance would be considered an asset.
Proficiency, and/or training in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical principles
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, team building, analytical and problem-solving skills
An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position may be considered .
