Job Description:
Pediatric specialist clinic is seeking an additional motivated, reliable & friendly Medical Office Assistant. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal & communication skills. Comfort & experience working with children & families is essential.
Candidate should be adaptable to a changing work environment, good team player and able to multitask to ensure office flow.
Preference will be given to candidates with computer proficiency, especially in the area of Electronic Medical Records (EMR). We use MedAccess.
We are looking for someone to join us on a part time basis to support our current full time Medical Office Assistant. They will help to optimize patient flow and care, in addition to background clerical duties. Hours would be flexible based on mutual agreement and need. Hours would be daytime Monday to Friday. There will be no weekend or evening hours. The estimated average hours would be 15 per week with the possibility of a baseline increase in the future. We may require a greater number of hours on certain weeks depending upon clinic & staffing needs.
Job responsibilities may include:
Check patients in, collecting/updating demographic information
Obtain heights, weights and blood pressures of patients
See patients to examining rooms
Manage patients medical records using EMR
Tidy and stock patient rooms
General office organization
Sort incoming mail & other clerical duties
Scanning documents into EMR
Shredding
Washing clinic room toys
Follow-up phone calls to patients and their families
Assist in medical billing
Answering phone calls & scheduling medical appointments
