Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting operations and providing support for financial reporting functions.
Key responsibilities:
-Prepare monthly financial statements and quarterly reports;
-Prepare documentation and analyze requirements for monthly foreign currency hedging program;
-Maintenance of accounting system and financial controls;
-Assist in analyzing new IFRS rules as it relates to corporate requirements;
-Support facilitation of internal and year-end audits;
-Support preparation of annual business plan and quarterly forecasts; and
-Prepare the financial info to support SR&ED claims.
This position will be of interest to candidates with:
-A Commerce degree specializing in Accounting with CPA designation;
-A min. 3 years experience in an accounting environment;
-Excellent knowledge of Excel;
-Experience with manufacturing entities and project accounting is considered an asset;
-Excellent grasp of internal controls and practical application;
-Ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive attitude;
-Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills;
-A strong-willed team player with exceptional planning/organizational skills;
-Excellent communication/interpersonal skills; and
-Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations.
