Cogent Chartered Professional Accountants LLP is currently seeking an EXPERIENCED SENIOR AUDIT TECHNICIAN for our Weyburn, SK office. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: The Senior Audit Tech is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and tax filings in accordance with firm standards for our clients. This individual would be responsible for planning audit engagements, assessing administrative and accounting controls, executing planned audit procedures, as well as examining the evidence and drafting conclusions for audits. The Senior Audit Tech will be the leader on engagements who reviews the work of the audit team and completes complex portions of the file.  The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with our clients and government agencies while providing supervision and training to other staff members to foster a comfortable learning environment.  

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge: A CPA Designation is required and a minimum of three years of public accounting experience with an emphasis on assurance is preferred. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Canadian auditing standards and remain current on trending topics in accounting and assurance. This individual will have above average analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Proficiency in accounting and computer software such as Microsoft Office, Profile, Caseware and JazzIt is preferred. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with, and lead a team.
