Description

Saskatoon Deshi Supermarket is looking for a retail supervisor. Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time 30 to 40 hours/week.

Job Requirements:

-LANGUAGES: English (Bengali, Hindi or Urdu will be an asset)
-EDUCATION: Grade 12 or equivalent
-EXPERIENCE: 1 year experience in a supervisory role
-ABILITY TO SUPERVISE: 3-5 people
-SECURITY AND SAFETY: Basic security clearance, criminal record check (abstract)
-WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods, attention to detail
-PERSONAL SUITABILITY: Effective interpersonal skills, organized, flexibility, reliability, team player, client focus, excellent oral communication, accurate
-ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Hire and train or arrange for training of staff, order merchandise, establish work schedules
-SPECIFIC SKILLS: Assign sales workers to duties, authorize return of merchandise, sell merchandise, prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personal matters, organize and maintain inventory, supervise and coordinate activities of workers, resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
-WORK SETTING: Retail business
-WORKERS SUPERVISED: Grocery clerks and shelf stockers, cashiers, retail salespersons and sales clerks
