Description

Venables Machine Works Ltd. is a trusted and respected leader in the custom steel manufacturing industry; providing design, machining and fabrication since 1931.

Venables is seeking to hire a Machine Shop Estimator for an immediate full time position
Duties include:
    Preparing Quote packages for customer utilizing Venables existing quoting system (JobBOSS).  
    Communication with vendors, sub-contractors, and customers
    Interpret Drawings and specifications received from the customer
    Sourcing pricing for material and outside services
    Determining costs for inside services and processes
    Submitting quotes to the customer in a professional manner
    Receiving and organizing replies to quotes in order to provide management with statistical information regarding success rate on a regular basis.  This will include regularly scheduled meetings
    Occasional material specification and purchasing.
    Working with all other VMW departments.

Qualifications:
    Great communication skills, time management & organizational skills.
    Must have great attention to detail
    Reading and understanding blueprints; 2D & 3D drawings.  Use of AutoCAD and Inventor would be an asset
    Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently and have the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline oriented environment
    Microsoft office knowledge is required
    Related experience estimating and bidding of custom and production machining processes and equipment used
    Must have mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn while working, and a positive attitude.
    A diploma or trades certification is an asset.
