Reporting to the Principal and FHQTC Education Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing student success and achievement at Chief Pasqua Education Center on Pasqua First Nation. Primary roles include:
integrating and implementing student success learning activities articulated through Imprint Learning for Success holistic goals;
supporting student academic achievement and success across the curriculum based on a foundation of cultural and linguistic relevance;
establish continuous school/family/community partnerships through engagement strategies; enhance linkages and partnerships to build student support services at assigned school;
participate in the identification and response to high risk students for immediate interventions.
Candidates will possess the following:
Bachelor of Education is required and experience will include cultural insights leading to a culturally relevant learning program, life-skills and life journey skills to develop student leadership, and a commitment to lifelong learning are essential;
Meaningful engagement of First Nations learners, families, role models and teachers to enhance First Nations student success is a requirement;
Knowledge and commitment to the philosophy, goals and objectives of FHQTC;
Understanding and appreciation of First Nations values, traditions, culture and language;
Ability to work in a collaborative team setting within classrooms, schools, school communities and FHQTC Education department;
Excellent oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
