The Carrot River Valley Watershed Association is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to fill the position of Term Watershed Technician running from September 15 2018 - October 1 2019. The position is based out of our office located in Melfort.The majority of hours will be between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, however, some evening and weekend work will be required. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License.
The Watershed Technician will work with CRVWA staff, board members, municipalities, agricultural producers, and watershed residents to promote stewardship activities in the watershed area, including farm stewardship, source water protection, shoreline assessments and naturalization, and developing educational materials, newsletter articles, workshops and brochures. Approximately 50% of the Watershed Technicians time will be dedicated to the delivery of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership Programming and the remaining 50% will be dedicated to source water protection, shoreline naturalization and other related projects as assigned by the Watershed Manager.

Interested parties who have successfully completed a Bachelor's Degree or Applied Diploma are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to those with a focus in biology, environmental sciences, natural resource management, agriculture, or geography. A background in agriculture is considered an asset. Applicants who are members of or who are eligible to become members of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists will be given preference. Strong interpersonal skills, organization, the ability to work independently and a passion for watershed stewardship are essential to the success of this position.
