Description

Responsible for the following:
supervise sales personnel
organize training programs for sales  personnel
supervise money handling
handle staff hiring, promotion & dismissal
organize staff safety programs
set up work schedules - hold staff meetings
ensure staff are up to date on new merchandise & promotions
conduct occasional appraisals with staff to review work performance

Merchandising
control inventory
re-order stock
anticipate customer needs
determine retail prices
supervise inventory counts
monitor anti-theft procedures
take appropriate action when theft occurs

Advertising
place in-store advertising, newspaper, flyers, media advertising
ensure items are correctly priced
determine store display & layout of merchandise

Customer Service
supervise customer service staff
deal with customer complaints
monitor problem areas & determine methods of improvement

Other responsibilities
meet with mall management when necessary
write & authorize reports to head office
meet with managers of other stores
authorize bank deposits
meet with merchandise representatives
open & close the store
be on call for alarm companies & police in case of emergencies
open & close safes and ensure they are locked properly
