Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
-Research, analyze, and implement changes to premium rate and probable yield methodologies.
-Identify risk management needs and assist in actuarial development of risk management programs based on needs identified, industry demands, strategic plan and/or government direction considering the guidelines outlined in the legislative framework.
-Perform data and statistical analysis, and prepare reports and/or related documentation that outline and interpret the findings of the analysis.
-Develop materials for annual program training and provide input in corporate training packages; act as a facilitator or resource during the training sessions, if required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
To be successful in this position you will need a university degree that specializes in one of the following areas which includes mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, finance, and agricultural economics or business supplemented by a minimum of 2 years of directly related experience.  Other qualifications include:
-Strong background in statistics, data analysis, and modeling, with the ability to interpret, summarize and report on the analysis.
-Superior problem solving skills with the ability to recognize and evaluate the implications and problems involved in translating findings of data analysis into operational programs.
-Administrative skills such as project and team management, establishment of cost summaries, development of procedures and basic management principles.
-Communication skills including ability to prepare and present concise reports through various mediums to all stakeholders; strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
-Advanced practical knowledge with computers, specifically with Microsoft Office as well as other statistical and data analysis software.
-Knowledge of agriculture industry practices, programs and policies, specifically within Saskatchewan, is an asset.
